Degrees:
- Doctor of Philosophy Degree - Human Performance with specializations in: Exercise Science, Health, Leisure Studies, and Physical Education
- Master of Science Degree - Exercise Science
- Master of Science Degree in HPER with concentrations in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Sport Mangement
Doctor of Philosophy student assistantship stipends amount to approximately $14,000 per year and master's stipends are approximately $6,000. Appointees have their tuition paid by the Graduate School. Master's assistantships are normally limited to two years or 4 semesters and doctoral assistantships are normally limited to 4 years or 12 semesters.
Applications for summer/fall must be complete by March 1 and applications for sping admission must be complete by October 31. Late applicants who meet the admissions criteria may be considered on a case-by-case basis. In order to assure top priority for an assistantship, application should be for the fall term. Appointment: Graduate assistantships are typically 9 months (with some options for summer employment) and include Fall and Spring tuition and a monthly stipend.

Responsibilities: Graduate assistant responsibilities are specific to each concentration. Unique duties include teaching physical activity classes and assisting student major's clubs (elementary & middle school physical education; physical education licensure), conducting departmental fitness assessments and participatin gin research and lab activities (fitness and lifetime wellness); and leading motor clinics for students with disbailities (adapted physical education).
