Join our local Volunteers in Mission or the Global Volunteers in Mission – contact Rev. Christina Vosteen, who says:
"Currently, all mission teams going to Haiti are to be no more than 10 people, the leader is to have VIM leadership training and have been on mission to Haiti, team members must be 18 years and older. We will be having NIC teams going beginning in early 2011. But people wanting to go sooner are encouraged to join up with teams from other conferences. It's an incredible connectional experience to be in mission with people you don't know yet are your UMC sisters and brothers."
International Child Care needs help rebuilding Grace Children's Hospital after it was destroyed in the earthquake. Their web site is http://www.internationalchildcare.org and their UMCOR Advance Special number is #418520.
Also, for any groups that may be forming to go to Haiti, Rev. Steve Good is willing to help them prepare regarding the conditions in Haiti, Haitian culture, and learning useful phrases in Haitian Creole.
