SHOES, SHOES AND MORE SHOES! These new and lightly worn shoes were donated by the congregation of the Holiday Hills United Methodist church in Greers Ferry and will be donated to the Soles4Souls organization. Soles4Souls has a simple mission: to impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes.

Holiday Hills UMC is the first church in Arkansas to participate in this worldwide effort, although several retail stores are now partnering with Soles4Souls as collection sites. Dan Brand, the pastor of Holiday Hills UMC, said he heard of the effort from a relative in Florida.

“[I] just knew that there were plenty of shoes being stored in Greers Ferry closets that were not being used,” Brand said. “After we spent three weeks collecting the shoes, they were laid upon the altar and prayed over that God would find just the right person for these shoes.”
