Imagine Ministry Update - November 2, 2009

The Imagine Ministry Team was commissioned by Bishop Charles N. Crutchfield to create a process whereby we can "re-think and re-do" the way we do church in the Arkansas Annual Conference.

The Imagine Ministry Team met October 26th and below are the key points of the gathering:

The Imagine Ministry Team took initial steps for a third party consultant to assess a structural review of the annual conference.
The team reviewed reports and analysis of other annual conferences that have restructured for missional change rather than institutional improvement.
The team received input and stories of ministry from pastors of innovative ministries within the conference.
The team established a baseline of statistical data from the years 2004 and 2008 to inform us as to "who we are" as an annual conference which raised other questions about what we need to do in relationship to our mission. The data included summary profiles of clergy and congregations. We are processing that data for trends across the denomination. The statistics covered demographics and trends of the mission field over the next five years.
The team is beginning to formulate outcomes for missional change within the annual conference.

Imagine Ministry Team Members: Bishop Charles N.Crutchfield, Jim Argue, Kathy Conley, Charles Donaldson, Rev. Susan Ledbetter, Rev. Edna Morgan, Rev. William "Bud" Reeves, Don Riggin and Rev. Mackey Yokem. Rev. Gil Rendle has been hired as a consultant to the group.
