The Child Care Liaison Project is a resource and support for child care ministries in Arkansas United Methodist Churches.
Created in 2006 and funded with a grant from the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas, the project liaision connects weekday child care centers with the profession of child care throughout Arkansas. The liaison also represents the interests of our programs and advocates for all children at state and local events, meetings and conferences
In 2008, the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education and The Arkansas Early Childhood Commission selected Meredith O’Hara, the Child Care Liaision, as an outstanding early childhood professional.
With providing resources for local church child care centers at its core, a Child Care Guidebook is in development and expected to be released in early 2009. The guidebook was developed to assist United Methodist churches in all aspects of their weekday child care ministries. The United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas sponsored the guidebook project.
