Below you will find information and nomination forms for a number of Arkansas Annual Conference awards. Check back frequently as additional award nomination forms will be added as they are received. Awards are listed in order of nomination deadline.
Barnabas
Award - nomination deadline April 30 - The Arkansas Conference Board
of Ordained Ministry will
present the 2010 Barnabas Award at Annual Conference. The Barnabas
Award is presented to a person, lay or clergy, known to have “a heart
for pastors.” Established in honor of Reverend Jim Beal, we present the
award to persons who, as Reverend Beal, show special interest in aiding
pastors in the entry process, as well as in the work of ministry.
Nominations for this year’s recipient are now being sought from among
Arkansas United Methodists. If you would like to submit a nomination,
please email your nomination to Reverend Tom Sullinger at
tsulling@arkwest.com on or before April 30. Please include the name of
the person you wish to nominate and an explanation telling why you feel
this person should receive the 2010 Barnabas Award.

Denman Evangelism Award nomination material may be

Mission Award - nomination
deadline May 15.
Conference Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns Award -nomination deadline May 15 - The Commission gives an annual award to the church and the individual who best reflects the spirit of Christian unity or interreligious dialogue this past year. This can be for a single event or for a record of continuous concern for dialogue. The awards will be presented at the 2010 Annual Conference in Hot Springs. To nomination a church and/or individual, send a letter of nomination to: J. J. Galloway, 300 Church Drive, White Hall, AR 71602, or email the letter in Word format to jjgalloway2001@yahoo.com.

Youth Minister of the Year Award - deadline April 1
This award is given to an outstanding youth minister, director, or
counselor. Full time or part time, paid or volunteer youth workers who have
exemplified outstanding leadership are eligible. Nominees should be a member of
and work in a United Methodist Church
in Arkansas.
They must be involved with the connectional system and participate in district
and conference youth events and be intentional on “making Disciples of
Jesus Christ” through missions, Bible studies, outreach, evangelism and
Christian fellowship. Nominees must also have participated in some type of
continuing education in the area of youth ministry. Nominations for all awards should include a letter detailing
the individual’s career highlights and reason for nomination. Nominations
