The General Commission on Religion and Race of the Northern Illinois Conference encourages pastors and laity to attend the upcoming Cross-Racial / Cross-Cultural Event, "Facing The Future," in Los Angeles, May 15-18, 2011.

If your church has been celebrating and acknowledging Black History Month, send pictures and reports to Rev. Adonna Davis Reid at St. Mark UMC, 8441 S. St. Lawrence Ave. Chicago, IL. 60619.

Rev. Adonna Davis Reid would like to hear from churches that have done or are planning programs that foster the goal of the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR), "To help the church move beyond the sin of racism to relationship." The NIC Commission may be able to help sponsor such events.
